How To Prepare Your Skin For Make Up

During the day we expose ourselves to many substances which are usually in the atmosphere .These substances are rarely noticed and we may not detect any changes in our skins until too late. That's why you need to give your skin a sweet relaxing treat at home every evening before you go to bed.
When you are done with your day's work, spare about one hour for your skin to maintain that smoothe and healthy skin of yours.

Five things should be done by you:
  • Face Cleansing
Cleansing your skin is important as it helps soften dead skin cells hence making them easier to be washed away.Remove your make-up first using a warm wet clothe.Don't scrub your skin to avoid irritating it.
  • Steaming
Steaming increases blood circulation in your skin hence keeping your cells alive. It also removes toxins that may have come to contact with your skin during the day hence protecting you from any infections.During steaming, stay about 15 to 24 inches away from the water. However, people with enlarged skin pores or sensitive skin are adviced to stay further.

  • Facial Mask
A mask is necessary to remove dirt and oil impurities which often encourage skin infections.Clay based masks have a drying effect on your skin and are most suitable for oily skin. You can also come up with your own home made mask such as an avocado mask (a one ingredient mask) or prepare an oatmeal mask by mixing a1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal,1 egg yolk and 1/2 cup of mashed bananas
  • Toning
Alcohol based toners should be avoided as they have the effect of drying out skin.Aloe vera or Witch hazel toners can be used
Moisturizing
Natural moisturizers are the best .Moisturizers derived from petroleum leave a film on skin which interferes with the skin's natural processes hence should be avoided. You can use Shea butter or Rosehip seed oil
