How To Dress A Newborn Baby-Must Have Outfits

Newborn babies are very fragile and sensitive to their needs. Therefore it follows that you have to have equal sensitivity so that you will be able to recognize the needs of the child and attend to them. After proper feeding, dressing comes second on the list of needs that must be fulfilled for your baby. What you pick for your baby to wear and at what place and time are quite tricky and sometimes we get it all wrong; no wonder they won't stop crying even after proper feeding. Good news is: I have the guidelines on how you should dress a newborn baby for a more comfortable day with them. Check the tips below:

  • To know how many layers of clothes your child should be in during certain weather, check the layers you are wearing then add one more to your baby; if you wear two sweaters, your newborn baby should have three. You could also supplement the extra sweater with a baby showl or blanket.
  • Always check for a sweaty neck or signs of discomfort so that your baby is not overdressed. Overheating because of too much dressing is not only a discomfort but also a health risk to your baby.
  • Coveralls for babies are always easier to dress newborns in. Sometimes getting small fitting baby clothes is difficult but when you have a good number of coveralls you only need to worry about inner wear like vests, and pants. Moreover, baby coveralls are usually warmer and they allow your baby to wave their little hands and feet in the air without the discomfort of three sweaters and a blanket. You might have also noticed how much easier it is to carry a baby in coveralls on your hands.Make sure to dress them with enough layers of clothe under the coveralls.
  •  During a hot sunny day, you can take your baby out in light clothes but make sure their delicate skin is not in direct contact with the sun rays. A hat for them or an umbrella will provide enough shade for comfort. Sunscreen is also a good way to protect your child's skin from the sun.
  • Have a wide collection of different baby clothes for different seasons and weather. Remember to have important clothes like snow suits, body suits, cotton socks, shorts, jackets and sweaters to name a few.
  • Choose very light and preferably padded baby shoes. You can go for knitted baby shoes which are very warm and flexible and don't feel heavy on the child's feet.
  • When carrying the baby in a carrier or sling, make sure to loosen so that the baby does not suffocate. When carrying the baby in slings made of heavy, warm fabrics, make sure not to overdress the baby or they will overheat.
  • When shopping before delivery, go for unisex clothes with neutral colors such as white, orange, brown, yellow and green. When you are sure of the gender, you can buy more of pinks for girls and more blues for baby boys.
  • Finally don't forget to choose cute, trendy and fitting clothes. Babies love fashion too!
