Face Cleansers And Toners

Toners
Toners shrink appearance of pores on your face and cleanse your skin. They can be applied either using damp cotton wool ,by spraying or applying it as a facial mask. You can choose whichever way that pleases you but you must ensure that you are using the right type of toner.
There are three types of toners:
  1. Skin bracers-also known as fresheners.
  2. Skin tonics
  3. Astringents

  • Skin bracers have no alcohol and are most suitable for dry ,sensitive, dehydrated skin.Normal skins are also suitable for toners
  • Skin tonics are slightly stronger than bracers .They are suitable for normal ,combination and oily skin.
  • Astringents are the strongest of all toners .They are suitable for oily skins. It is advisable to apply only to the problem areas of your skin because they have a drying effect on dry skin which inturn triggers the skin to produce oil in excess as it trys to compensate for lost oil.
As you grow old less dead cells are produced on your skin so you are adviced to use mild toners to avoid damaging your skin.
Carrot oil is also said to improve complexion by strengthening your red blood cells. It is most reccomended for dry ageing skin as it is a great skin rejuvenator.
Aloe Vera if used on a regular basis can serve as a natural way of evening your complexion while honey helps in skin rejuvenation thus giving you that young look every day.

Cleansers
Cleansers help to remove dead cells from your skin and expose new cells so that your face remains fresh and young.Natural cleansers are the best as they don't expose you to the risk of toxic chemicals that are sometimes included in manufactured cleansers.
You can make a simple healthy and affordable cleanser at home using yogurt and Lemons.
Here's a quick guide of what to do:
  1. Squize fresh lemon juice into a clean sterilized container
  2. Add some yogurt to the lemon juice and stirr thoroughly
  3. Place the mixture into a fridge for an hour
  4. Add tea tree oil and mix thoroughly
  5. Transfer the mixture into a clean sterilised glass container and cover with a tight fitting lid then keep it in the fridge for an hour.
You can use your cleanser after one hour and if some remains, you can store it in your refrigerator for a week.
Experts warn against storing homemade cosmetics in aluminium containers because metals can get into your body through your pores
People who cleanse regularly are less prone to acne and other skin disorders because it removes impurities from clogged skin pores. However you should also watch your diet and do enough exercise to reduce the fat in your body.

How To Prepare Your Skin For Make Up

During the day we expose ourselves to many substances which are usually in the atmosphere .These substances are rarely noticed and we may not detect any changes in our skins until too late. That's why you need to give your skin a sweet relaxing treat at home every evening before you go to bed.
When you are done with your day's work, spare about one hour for your skin to maintain that smoothe and healthy skin of yours.

Five things should be done by you:
  • Face Cleansing
Cleansing your skin is important as it helps soften dead skin cells hence making them easier to be washed away.Remove your make-up first using a warm wet clothe.Don't scrub your skin to avoid irritating it.
  • Steaming
Steaming increases blood circulation in your skin hence keeping your cells alive. It also removes toxins that may have come to contact with your skin during the day hence protecting you from any infections.During steaming, stay about 15 to 24 inches away from the water. However, people with enlarged skin pores or sensitive skin are adviced to stay further.

  • Facial Mask
A mask is necessary to remove dirt and oil impurities which often encourage skin infections.Clay based masks have a drying effect on your skin and are most suitable for oily skin. You can also come up with your own home made mask such as an avocado mask (a one ingredient mask) or prepare an oatmeal mask by mixing a1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal,1 egg yolk and 1/2 cup of mashed bananas
  • Toning
Alcohol based toners should be avoided as they have the effect of drying out skin.Aloe vera or Witch hazel toners can be used
Moisturizing
Natural moisturizers are the best .Moisturizers derived from petroleum leave a film on skin which interferes with the skin's natural processes hence should be avoided. You can use Shea butter or Rosehip seed oil

How To Choose The Right Heel For A Healthy Posture

Kate walking to a friend's wedding

Shoes are one thing in a lady's life that cannot be ignored. Any lady would part with as much money they can just to have a unique eye catching shoe that will make her presence known to all along the streets.Feeling great in shoes is no offence in any way and should be a culture that is embraced by all women but the most important question we should ask ourselves is: To What Extent Can my love for shoes take me?

Some shoes will take you to hospital while others will keep you always on the move.

Heels and posture
Some heels tamper with your posture and interfere with your spinal cord which in turn affects your back. The effects of uncomfortable heels is not felt immediately .It is felt after a prolonged period of walking in heels continuously without changing to something flat and that calls for you to be sensitive about any pain on your  body. You should never overlook  any pain on your back or feet if you have the habit of wearing heels  and walking all day in them because this can cause you hospitalisation or land you in clutches for support. The less serious is having to stop wearing heels and having to wear belts to support your back.
Pick just the comfortable Heels.
How do You Know you are walking in the right posture?
  • Whenever you are walking make sure that your ear is directly above your shoulder so that you are not slumping forward or backward
  • Ensure that your leg is not stretched too at your heel and that you are not straining to walk.
  • The heel should automatically balance you so you should not struggle to balance
