I Love The Uniqueness In African Fabrics

I think the most creative fabric work I have come across recently is from Africa not just because of the African patterns on the fabrics but also because of the color blending involved."Kikoi" and 'kitenge' fabrics are among the most popular and the most beautiful. It is easy to come up with amazing designs from these fabrics if you just put you imagination at work.
Am glad that African clothes are slowly gaining access to other parts of the world but I still hope that we will not ruin the fabrics with not so good designing.
I love picking out my favorites; Here is what I got for you:

Solange Knowles got it right with African attire:

I admire the color scheme and the personality in that attire.Solange Knowles gave it the right shot.

Bright, simple and cute

Plain red on the top and a floral bottom is really cute.
Spotted at a kitenge fashion festival in Nairobi Kenya.

I don't know who designed this, but I love everything about it- It's the kind that you wear to occasions and parties and you stand out.
If you are a fan of Kikoi...
embellished kikoi
Kikoi's demand for creativity in order to get a great finish. They look better when embellished with jewels or shells. There is some pride that kikois carry with them.
Something about 'kangas'.....

Kangas can be turned into almost anything- skirt, dress, shorts, top or trousers. They are among the cheapest and easiest african fabrics to work with.

Best Haircuts 2013- Ladies

Trends in haircuts keep changing and a lot of times old cuts are brought back to life. This round there is more development in hairstyles than ever before as people are becoming more daring with changing times. There are however some hairdos that you just can't avoid falling in love with: simple, elegant and up to date; Take a look:
Short, bumpy and highlighted
This cut is sexy but simple enough. The highlights add to the bulk of the hair and the edges are shaped just right. A hair stylist should be able to style you this one according to the shape of your face.
Do you love your long hair?
Even on long hair, highlights do wonders. A little curl adds some bulk while clean up and proper oiling gives your hair a glow.
You might think of plaiting

Braids can do wonders even when you don't have long hair. You can get away with your short hair by braiding it this way. Plaited hair is also easier to maintain if you are a busy lady.
There is power in color
When it comes to color, you are only advised to choose colors that compliment your skin. Warm toned people should go for warm colors such as brown red or maroon e.t.c while cool toned look better in cool shades such as blue, dark brown or purple. You don't have to have too bright hair, if you are conservative then the right shades of brown will do you great.
You can play fierce like Rihanna

I love this haircut for its uniqueness and creativity. It's not like your regular Mohawk and it is bulky enough. If you love short hair, this would do well for you.

Or if you love to be edgy

This edgy look can be achieved by making asymmetrical cuts on your hair. The shape of the haircut will depend on your face shape. If you choose to add color, you will be enhancing the look and emphasizing the style. Other than this, there are other ways of having edgy hair as well.

Kate Middleton Pregnant: Kate's Maternity style

Kate Middleton is only a few weeks to deliver her royal baby. It has not been a smooth journey for her considering the earlier fears they had that she would miscarry the baby out of stress. She had also experienced acute morning sickness which must have been quite worrying. That aside though, Kate has not lost her sense of style. It has been glamor all through, take a look:

Cute as ever in  polka dots and blazer

She wore these during their visit to the Harry Porter Film studios in Hertfordshire.
Elegant and official

She dressed this way during a visit to her parents home in Upper Bucklebury. I must admit she looks royal and graceful as usual.
Quite simple in sky blue dress
The baby must be giving Kate this glowing smile. The simplicity of this maternity dress is wonderful- she just looks free and amazing.
 Plaid Jacket and leggings

Clearly Kate has the advantage of fitting into different styles. Here she looks quite amazing in the plaid coat, boots and leggings. The baby bump wasn't so huge then.

Kim Kardashian Pregnant: Maternity fashion

Considering her beauty, we are already anticipating how Kanye and Kim Kardashian's baby will look like. I liked her maternity clothes all through; she has been able to show off her baby bump quite well. I picked out some of Kim Kardashians clothes- my favorite though anyone would just fall for her style.
Take a look at pregnant Kim Kardashian photos:
Kim is quite fond of wearing close fitting clothes and the baby bump couldn't stop her yet. She was spotted in New York in this elegant dress- It looks quite comfortable a dress to be in if your bump is still small.
For a body like hers this dress is suitable- free flowing, comfortable and trendy. I suppose she's holding frozen yoghurt there since it was one of her cravings.
Color can actually do wonders for a pregnant lady. I like the way Kim Kardashian here picked her colors and make up. She is heavily pregnant and still glowing.
This might not be too flashy but it's attractive in its own way- A tight top to show the growing 'top' and a free bottom to keep the bump comfortable. However I think she could have done better.
This is the simplest I have seen her looking.I think she's really cute and adorable in the tiny dress.

How To Get It Right With Color Blocking

Color blocking simply means wearing brightly colored clothes with another bright one but of a different color. Colors that blend well in color blocking are usually those that complement each other on the color wheel( if you have some basic knowledge on colors). For instance since green is made up of yellow and blue, these colors will block well. Color blocking is almost the in thing for 2013 and its working wonders to revive bright colors. With color blocking, it's easier to get it right than wrong.
How to color block
When color blocking, you can either do it horizontally or vertically. In vertical color blocking you wear clothes with one bright color on the left and the other bright color on the right- not necessarily symmetrical. In horizontal color blocking, you wear a bright color on the top side and the other bright color on the bottom. For instance you can wear a red skirt and a blue top.
Slim people look better with horizontal color blocking while slightly bid and plus size people are advised to do vertical color blocking which has a slimming effect.
horizontal and vertical color blocking respectively

Both men and women can do color blocking. For men it takes more courage but it's usually amazing when a guy gets it right.Unlike before, the gap between feminine colors and masculine colors is rapidly narrowing and more men can be seen in pinks and purples. What matters most is how you pull the look. If you are not daring enough to try it with your outfit, you can start by trying out with your bag. You can decide to go all yellow then wear green shoes and a green handbag.
The simplest and the less daring way of color blocking is through your accessories. You can pick one plain color e.g red and choose to accessorize it with yellow earrings, necklace or tie. Scarfs and hair clips are also great for color blocking purposes.

It's not mandatory that you only blend two colors. You can use as many as you please as long as you do it well. I hope you try it out.
